Persephone's Chamber
Persephone’s Chamber explores the aftermath of transformation in which Persephone surrendered at the end of Vertical Time. Persephone comes to consciousness, exhausted and disoriented in an unfamiliar environment. During her long, poisonous sleep, visions of her ancestors appear; they hold offerings which she cannot yet decipher. The echo of three words -- atonement, purification and dematerialization -- haunts her; Persephone intuits that the focus is on maintaining purity of intent. From the underground chambers of Hades, she must navigate the gradual shift between shadows and illumination as well as external and internal space. This place of white marble, devoid of human presence, is full of fleeting movements in the shadows and whispers.
